Annual Training

Annual safety training is paramount at Yankee. We uphold the highest standards of workplace safety to successfully mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory compliance. Through regular training sessions, our employees remain informed about the latest safety protocols, equipment usage guidelines, hazard identification techniques, and emergency procedures.

Our ongoing commitment to education and accountability fosters a safety-conscious culture where our employees are equipped to recognize potential dangers, respond effectively to emergencies, and maintain a secure work environment.

Significantly, Yankee’s commitment to safety has earned an EMR (Experience Modification Rating) of .77%. This rating represents a very favorable safety history based on workers’ compensation claims that have been reported to the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) over the course of the last five years.a

To enhance our dedication to safety, Yankee conducts regular in-house training for all employees on the maintenance and repair of our extensive inventory of specialty equipment. Two such examples are provided in the following videos.

The first involves lapping the valves of an ultra-high-pressure (UHP) machine to ensure a tight seal between the valve and its seat. We use a fine abrasive compound to grind and polish the contact surfaces of the valve and its seat together. This process removes imperfections, irregularities, and any microscopic protrusions that might prevent a perfect seal, especially crucial in our ultra-high-pressure systems where even minor leaks can lead to significant loss of efficiency or safety hazards. Lapping helps create a smooth and uniform mating surface, enhancing the valve's performance, longevity, and reliability under extreme pressure conditions.

The second video illustrates routine maintenance of one of our Aqua-Dyne water blasting scrubbers used with our Blastmax S-300. The Blastmax generates up to 40,000 PSI to remove a wide variety of coatings, finishes, and accumulated environmental deposits. Regular maintenance ensures efficiency and satisfaction for all of Yankee’s surface preparation and restoration projects.
