Sand Blasting / Industrial Coating

Sandblasting and Industrial Coating at Pilgrim Monument, Provincetown, Mass

Yankee preforms sandblasting, or abrasive blasting services, using a multitude of blast media.

While sandblasting has been around for over 100 years, “sand” has been replaced by other types of media and blasting processes that are safer and more effective. The terms sandblasting and abrasive blasting are synonymous.

Most sandblasting is performed to prepare steel/concrete for subsequent industrial coating or to remove toxic coatings containing lead, asbestos, or PCBs. Yankee provides sandblasting, industrial coating, and removal of hazardous coatings. We have on staff two AMPP/NACE/SSPC Certified Coating Inspectors. Our crews are asbestos licensed, lead, PCB and HAZWOPER trained, with extensive experience building negative pressure containments to eliminate fugitive dust.

Yankee’s blasting services Include:

1) Sandblasting with new media such as coal slag, copper slag, crushed glass, and recyclable steel grit

2) Vacuum blasting, also known as dustless blasting

3) Shotblasting, also known as Blastrac or bead blasting for flat surfaces

4) Dry ice blasting, also known as CO2 blasting

5) Vapor blasting, also known as slurry blasting

6) Ultra high pressure Water (UHP) jetting at 40,000 PSI

Yankee’s blasting and coating capabilities include tanks, complex industrial structures, chimneys and industrial flooring. With nearly 40 years’ experience, Yankee is one the region’s most experienced providers of sand blasting services.
